BALM has collaborated with reputed universities and Civil Society Organisations, known for their meaningful contribution to service development, policy and education to ensure a robust learning climate.

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) www.tiss.edu, is BALM’s primary partner. BALM and TISS share a common Vision of being an institution of excellence that continually responds to changing social realities through the development and application of knowledge. Both focus on creating a people-centred, ecologically sustainable and just society that promotes and protects dignity, equality, social justice and human rights for all.

TISS was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.

TISS collaborates with BALM to offer three Post Graduate Courses:
M.A. in Clinical Psychology
M.A. in Counseling Psychology
M.A. in Social Work.

BALM has collaborated with the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD) www.rgniyd.gov.in for its Diploma programmes in Community Mental Health Care.

BALM collaborates with Athena Institute at the Faculty of Earth & Life Sciences, Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, for its PhD programmes and on collaborative research. http://www.falw.vu.nl/en/research/athena-institute/ Faculty from the institute also teach at BALM as Visiting Professors.
