Workshop on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

BALM is bringing a workshop for the mental health professionals which will help the participants gain a good insight into the theory and practice of acceptance and commitment therapy. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) belongs to a group of third-­wave, or contextual cognitive behavioral therapeutic, approaches that emphasizes altering the way people relate to their thinking and feeling, rather than directly trying to change the form or frequency of these internal experiences (Hayes, 2004). 

The 2-hour workshop will be conducted by Dr. Gitanjali Natarjan, currently working as a Professor and HOD in the Dept. Of Clinical Psychology, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi. Her areas of expertise are Adult Psychopathology and Psychotherapy- Process based therapy utilizing Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.
