Movement for Global Mental Health:

The Banyan Academy is the Secretariat for Movement for Global Mental Health (MGMH) from 2020-2022. The MGMH, through its massive global network of 15,000 individuals and 225 institutions has been advocating for improving services for people with mental health issues by amplifying the voices of peoples with lived experiences.

The Banyan Academy, as Secretariat of MGMH, will continue to focus on the movement’s founding commitment to scientific evidence and human rights. During its tenure, it aims to bring new voices from the Global South that will further contribute to the diversity and richness in the narrative, foster collaborations for transdisciplinary action, and build support networks that will help traverse systemic challenges towards building inclusive ecosystems for persons with psychosocial needs.
